Phase One

During this phase, you will plan your site with us. The first consultation will usually be in person, though it can be done over the telephone. Following consultations will be by email or phone. We will discuss your vision of the site and decide the look, feel, flow and function of your site. We will also set up a timetable for development and implementation of your project. The final section of this phase will be setting a budget by estimating design cost, and discussing with you the cost of a domain and hosting on a of server your completed site.

Phase Two

During this phase, we will carry out the design of your web site. To begin, you will need to gather information and graphics that you want to be part of the site. This can include text, information you want to have written into text, graphics you have or want designed, photographs, and other material you want integrated into the site. We will also plan the architecture of your site. We will continually consult with you via email or phone to ensure that decisions made as to layout and content fulfill your vision of the site. At the end of this phase, we will make a presentation of features to be approved before we proceed any further. This meeting is important to ensure the site meets your expectations and needs.

Phase Three

In this phase, we will implement, test, and fine-tune your site. All pages will have been coded and graphics will have been produced. We will mount the site on our server so that you can see and test the site as it develops. We will test the site to ensure that it performs at its optimal by testing the loading speed, the javascripts, any interactive elements, and the usability of the interface. We will make sure that the site is user friendly and intuitive. We also ensure that the site retains its integrity cross-platform and cross-browser, degrades gracefully when viewed with "legacy" browsers, and functions well with readers for the visually handicapped.

After this, modifications to the site will be made until you are totally satisfied. Once we have ensured that the site meets our standards and your vision, we will load the site onto the web. At this point you can decide to choose Lightfalls Design to host your site, or another hosting company.

And, in this final phase, we will discuss with you the promotion of your site. If you would like a maintainence agreement with Lightfalls Design, this is when we'll discuss how often your site will need to be changed, and what sort of updates you will need.

Lightfalls Design offers a complementary site review if you wish, three months after the site is loaded and open to the public. We like to follow up, and make sure the site is performing to your expectations. This is a good point at which to look at your site logs and see what your visitors are doing. We will show you how to access and interpret the logs from your server. We also like to hear about any feedback you've had from your visitors, and talk over possible changes that you might like to make the site in the future. Our follow up meeting with you lets us make sure that you're completely happy with your site, and will continue to be in the future.
